1. What is the PRODUCTION FUNCTION all about?

This functions is about the creating and developing of goods or services in the business with the help of men, money and materials.



This is the most important function in business because it involves plant location and layout, plant building, production planning, repair, quality and maintenance.



It is all about the: capital used, the entrepreneurship behind the product or service and the labour used.



2. What is the MARKETING FUNCTION about?

It is all about how the goods or services are distrubuted to its clients.

An easy way to remember what the marketing function is about, involves the 4 'P's' = promotion, planning, price and physical distrubution.

FINANCE FUNCTION:



This function keeps the business 'alive'.

Involves planning, procurement an deffective utilisation of the money that is in the business. The main aim of each business is to make more profit and capital for the business, so the 'headmaster' of the finance department should invest their money in shares perhaps and investigate shot- and longtems investments that culd lead to a higher profitable rate.



PERSONNEL FUNCTION:

Is concerned about the development and the maintanace of efficient and effective work force within the bussiness.

It inculdes the selection of the best workers, training, promotion, tranfer, payments of wages, welfare activities and industrial relation of the workforce.



OFFICE FUNCTION/ ADMINISTRATION:

Includes the perform of information and records, the efficient generation and collection of the records, effective communication of the records.

This specific function of calle the secretarial funcion or the public relation function aswell.



GENERAL MANAGEMENT:

Ensures that the business achieves its goals and profit. Makes management plans, directs and plans for the development of the business. This function controls the success of the business.



PUBLIC RELATION:

Keep in touch with the public to test their needs and commands. Also focus on the feedback of the public on the goods or survice provides (nessecary for improvement of business that lead to higher profit)



PURCHASING:

Ensures that raw materials are of best conditions and quality, also available on time and when needed.



For the business to be succesful there must be PLANNING, LEADING, ORAGNIZING and CONTROLLING involved, which is the four main functions of managing a business.
